Ten beneficiaries for one hundred twenty days toward a healthy community.
That was the target of Barangay Daang Bakal for their project titled, Pinggang Makulay: Sapat na Nutrisyon Para sa Malusog na Kinabukasan ng Lahat. To achieve this goal, Barangay Daang Bakal collaborated with the Community Development Office through its Orientation Community Involvement (SOCI) members, including the Alumni Development Office, the JRU Alumni Association, the Office of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, the Elementary School Division, the Junior High School Division, and the Senior High School Division.
Throughout October, the sponsors made it their mission to deliver daily nutritious packed lunches to two malnourished children, three high-risk pregnant women, three senior citizens, and two children with disabilities.
When the Feeding Program concluded in November, it was reported that each beneficiary experienced not only an increase in weight but also an improvement in their overall well-being. This collective effort demonstrates the JRU Community’s strong commitment to fostering a healthier and happier community for everyone, while also contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) – Good Health and Well-Being.
