One hundred twenty (120) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) received grocery bags from the Jose Rizal University (JRU) community as they celebrated the very early Pamaskong Handog institutional outreach last November 7, 2025 at the Elementary School quadrangle. This year’s theme, “Paskong May Pag-asa, Alay sa Kapwa”, is a reminder that Christmas is a symbol of hope despite the calamities and challenges that most Filipinos face. Smiles lit up the faces of recipients as they enjoyed heartfelt performances from JRU’s elementary, junior high, and college students.
Led by the Community Development Office under Mrs. Hiromi M. Lascano and supported by the SOCI Committee, this annual initiative goes beyond gift-giving. It champions Sustainable Development Goals—Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17)—while embodying JRU’s core value of Tatak Taos Puso.
United in purpose, JRU’s administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni filled grocery bags with essentials—rice, coffee, milk, sugar, noodles, canned goods, spaghetti bundles, biscuits, and toiletries—proving that together, this season can be made brighter for those in need.
