The Senior High School CDO faculty and SHS students’ clubs successfully organized the "Pagbibigay Kaalaman, Aklat Para sa Lahat" outreach program on November 16, 2024.
This event aimed to improve access to reading materials, especially for underserved communities, which promote literacy and lifelong learning. Also, fostering a love for reading through storytelling in early literacy development.
The program commenced with an opening ceremony at 1:00 PM, held at Alay Pag-Asa Christian Foundation Function Hall, 32 Arayat, Mandaluyong City. Mrs. Mylove P. Abanador, warmly welcomed the participants, emphasizing the significance of education and literacy.
The JRU students facilitated the storytelling session which emphasized values such as kindness, bravery, and perseverance. These sessions captivated the children’s attention and imagination. Questions were also asked during the storytelling to keep the children engaged. The children actively participated as well. Both the JRU students and children enjoyed the session. The session ended with smiles on their faces. The students’ reflection showcased the impact of this kind of program not only the recipients but also the facilitators.
The JRU faculty donated books, including textbooks, storybooks, and reference materials. Learning materials such as paper, colored pencils, and snacks were also given.
The collaboration showcased the power of unity in achieving shared goals. The program not only provided tangible resources but also inspired hope and motivation for a brighter future through education.
