March 13, 2024, marked a significant milestone in education and industry collaboration with the official launching of the Emperador x Rizalian Oenology Center at C-48, Building C.
The event was spearheaded by the visionary President and CEO of Emperador Distillers Inc., Mr. Winston S. Co, alongside esteemed figures including José Rizal University President, Dr. Vicente K. Fabella, HR Director of Emperador Distillers Inc., Ms. Marianne P. Roca, and the Dean of College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Kathleen G. Apilado, the event symbolized the fusion of academia and industry expertise.
Mr. Co, a distinguished JRU alumnus, generously renovated the laboratory at the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, showcasing his commitment to academic excellence and his alma mater. This initiative symbolizes the enduring bond between Emperador Distillers Inc. and José Rizal University, solidifying their commitment to collaboration and community development.
Moreover, the partnership between Emperador and José Rizal University opens doors to endless opportunities, setting a new standard for oenology education. Students have access to the newly renovated laboratory, equipped with the latest equipment for analysis and experimentation. This hands-on approach to learning not only enhances students’ understanding of oenology but also fosters innovation and creativity, preparing them to tackle the challenges of an ever-evolving industry.
President Vicente K. Fabella expressed enthusiasm about the numerous events planned for the Emperador x Rizalian Oenology Center, under the stewardship of Dean Kathleen G. Apilado and the HTM Faculty. Introductory training sessions for students, faculty, and staff will be conducted at the center, further enriching the oenology education experience. Beyond academia, the center will also serve as a resource for employees.
