Pursuing graduate studies has been my goal since college. I’ve always envisioned myself completing a master’s degree and eventually transitioning into teaching.
At the same time, I see this as an opportunity for continuous learning and skill development that I can bring back to my current role and contribute more effectively to my company. I firmly believe that education is one of the most valuable investments—it’s something no one can take away from you, and it keeps you ahead in a constantly evolving world.
During my MBA studies, one of the main challenges I faced was balancing work and academics. The most challenging part was meeting work deadlines while also preparing for class reports and presentations. These moments tested my ability to stay organized and focused. However, by setting clear priorities and seeking guidance when needed, I was able to stay motivated and deliver quality outputs in both areas. Time management became essential, and through consistent practice, I improved my flexibility and multitasking skills—abilities that I know will benefit me both personally and professionally. In the end, taking my MBA requires a great deal of sacrifice and prioritization.
I am truly grateful to José Rizal University (JRU) for the consistent support it has provided since day one of my graduate studies. As a regular employee, I’ve been fortunate to receive free tuition, which has significantly eased the financial burden of pursuing my MBA. I only need to cover the miscellaneous fees, which is a great privilege and an opportunity I deeply value.
Beyond financial support, I’m also thankful to my supervisors and colleagues who have been continuously encouraging and motivating me throughout my graduate school journey, especially now as I work on my thesis. Their support has made a big difference in balancing my responsibilities at work and in school.
What I appreciate most is how JRU fosters educational growth that directly contributes to my professional development. The knowledge and skills I’ve gained not only enrich my academic experience but also positively impact my performance and future career path. I see this as one of the many meaningful benefits of being part of the JRU community.
My advice to aspiring graduate students is to stay focused on your goals and keep your purpose in mind throughout the journey. Graduate studies are not easy—it comes with challenges, sacrifices, and moments of doubt. But remember, just like in life, you can’t complete a plus sign without a minus sign. The struggles are part of the process, and they help shape your growth.
Believe in yourself, trust the process, and keep moving forward. Even when it gets tough, remind yourself why you started. In the end, education is one of the greatest achievements you can earn—it’s something no one can ever take away from you, and it will always put you a step ahead.
