Mandaluyong City, Philippines – José Rizal University (JRU) and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding formalizing the international collaboration through cooperation and academic engagement.
JRU and UMS are committed to enhancing academic cooperation through memorandum of understanding which will provide a framework for supporting a wide range of cooperative activities including, teaching, research, training, and cultural exchange programs. Both universities have similar goals with regard to achieving academic excellence, and providing collaborative opportunities to students, staff, faculty, and researchers.
In the MOU, the signatory institutions agree to offer collaborative programs in multiple engagements, including but not limited to; faculty exchange, visiting research fellows, student mobility such as conferences, practicum, immersion, and short courses. The MOU provides for establishing possibilities for fellowships and other academic initiatives the institutions agree to develop. The institutions have stated that the purpose of the relationship is to promote academic and research-based mutual benefits and common objectives.
The partnership supports JRU’s broader aims to strengthening international ties and contributing to worldwide progress in research education, and community service.
JRU and UMS desire to establish a collaborative partnership and to achieve their common goal of fostering innovation, knowledge transfer, and creating significant academic partnerships both regionally and globally.
