José Rizal University|Employee Feature: Security Guards

Mr. ERWINITO R. MADURO, Security Guard for 9 years in JRU, and ROBELLYN R. NEMIS, Security Guard for 7 years in JRU.

– SG Maduro

— SG Maduro

Guards are often the unsung heroes of our universities. Day and night, they stand watch to ensure the safety and security of the university and its studentry. They brave the elements and face potential danger to protect us from harm. Their contributions are invaluable, and they deserve recognition for their hard work.

But what makes guards truly exceptional is their selflessness. They prioritize the needs of the university and studentry above their personal needs and comfort. They work long hours, sometimes sacrificing time with their own families to ensure that we are safe and secure. This selflessness is genuinely admirable and serves as a reminder of the value of putting the needs of others before our own.

As we celebrate Zero Discrimination Day today, it is essential to remember that every job is important and deserves respect and dignity. Guards may not hold glamorous positions, but they are just as integral to the functioning of our universities as any other profession. Discrimination or belittlement of any job is unacceptable, and we should honor and recognize the efforts and contributions of every individual, regardless of their job title or social status. Let us all take a moment to acknowledge our guards’ hard work and selflessness and show our appreciation for their contributions to our university community.
