On November 29, one hundred twenty (120) street sweepers received gift bags during this year’s gift-giving event for our partner communities: Brgy. Daang Bakal, Brgy. Harapin ang Bukas, and Brgy. Bagong Silang. The dedicated members of the Social Orientation and Community Involvement (SOCI) Committee came together to prepare essential grocery items, including rice, coffee, powdered milk, soap, and toothpaste, all generously donated by parents and stakeholders from the JRU community.
In a testament to the unity and support of the livelihood program of these partner barangays and as part of the Sustainable Integrated and Community Advancement Program (SICAP) of JRU, the Community Development Office purchased six hundred (600) pieces of monay (bread) from Brgy. Daang Bakal, one hundred twenty (120) bottles of dishwashing liquid soap from Brgy. Harapin ang Bukas, and one hundred twenty (120) mini tubs of peanut butter from Brgy. Bagong Silang, enriching the Pamaskong Handog grocery bags.
The gift-giving event was filled with joy, featuring a program organized by the SHS SOCI members led by Mr. Wilson Mones and his team. The JRU Chorale, Young Rizalians Ukulele Ensemble, Harmoniya, and Junior High School students captivated the audience with their performances. With the presence of JRU school officials and barangay chairpersons, the event celebrated not only the spirit of Taos Pusong Rizal but also, the love and compassion that Christmas brings to all people.
