At first, I only consider it as unfinished business and a decision to pursue another degree.
But as I got involved and went along with this course, my reasons went beyond personal ambition. I want to practice law in the future to help people to seek justice and uphold their rights. I also want to make an impact on the community where I belong.
Q: What challenges have you encountered during your study of law and how have you overcome them?
As a working student with a full course load, it is always time management. Balancing my time between work, reviewing lessons, and attending classes is not that easy. To address this, I have to sacrifice most of my leisure time. This is not to say that I will have no time for leisure. Whenever possible, like during holidays and long weekends, I use my spare time to do what I want like traveling or having a whole day rest.
Q: In what ways has JRU supported and enhanced your law education?
JRU provides a set of esteemed professors who are experts in their subject matter. Aside from that, the school provides class schedules that are made to accommodate working students.
Q: What tips or advice would you offer to aspiring law students?
Do not rush. Take it easy. Law school is not a race. Start enrolling in law school when you are already financially, emotionally, physically, and mentally prepared. Law school is a demanding journey that requires dedication, discipline, and resilience.
