On September 20, 2024, the Centennial Building Auditorium of José Rizal University was filled with excitement, pride, and a sense of purpose as the 30th Mass Induction took place.
With the theme “Envisioned: Building Bridges, Fortifying Progress,” this significant event marked the beginning of a new academic year for the Rizalian student leaders and campus organization advisers for 2024-2025. It was an afternoon of ceremony, tradition, and celebration, as the leaders of tomorrow formally pledged their commitment to serving the Rizalian community.
Dressed in their finest modern Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog, the attendees showcased not just their leadership but also their pride in Filipino heritage. Each outfit bore traditional colors, beautifully accented with touches of gold, symbolizing honor and excellence.
The event opened with a heartwarming welcome from the Ms. Hiromi M. Lascano, setting a formal yet spirited tone for the induction. The highlight of the ceremony was the collective oath-taking of the student leaders, alongside the campus organization advisers. Each pledge echoed their dedication to uphold the values of the university, work for the betterment of their respective organizations, and foster a sense of unity within the Rizalian community.
Following the oath-taking was the pinning ceremony, a time-honored tradition that symbolizes the trust and responsibility vested in the new officers. As each student leader and adviser received their pin, the gravity of their roles was made clear: they are now the bridge-builders, the agents of progress, tasked with leading their peers in a journey of growth, development, and collaboration.
A moment of celebration followed as the university recognized the hard work and dedication of each student organization with the awarding of accreditation from Level 1 to Level 3. These distinctions are a testament to the vibrancy and excellence of the Rizalian student body, with each level reflecting the organization’s achievements and contributions to the community.
The ceremony then shifted to a poignant part of the program: the turnover of leadership. Outgoing 29th JRU Central Student Council (CSC) President, Mr. Arvin James P. Silverio, delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting on his experiences that shaped him as a leader. He thanked his peers, advisers, and the university for their unwavering support and guidance. His words emphasized the importance of collaboration, perseverance, and vision in leading an organization.
After his speech, it was time for the newly elected 30th JRU CSC President, Mr. Jake E. Fabon, to step forward and address the audience. His speech was one of hope and aspiration, outlining his goals for the upcoming academic year. Mr. Fabon shared his vision for the Rizalian student community, focusing on unity, inclusivity, and progress. His enthusiasm and determination were evident, and he encouraged his fellow leaders to work together towards a common goal: a brighter future for all Rizalians.
The symbolic key of responsibility was then passed from Mr. Silverio to Mr. Fabon, signifying the official transfer of leadership. The key, a tangible representation of accountability and stewardship, now rests in the hands of the new leadership, ready to unlock new opportunities and achievements for the academic year ahead.
The 30th Mass Induction was more than just a ceremony; it was a celebration of leadership, heritage, and commitment. As the event came to a close, the attendees left the auditorium with a renewed sense of purpose. The future of the Rizalian community looks brighter than ever, with student leaders and advisers united in their goal of building bridges and fortifying progress, not just for themselves but for every Rizalian.
