1. PACUCOA Endorsement for JRU Basic Education
The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) Board of Directors has officially endorsed JRU’s Basic Education programs to the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) for certification. The endorsement includes:
- Elementary and Junior High School programs – Level III, 3rd Reaccreditation (RA) status for five (5) years (Effective January 2025 to January 2030).
- Senior High School program – Level I Formal Accreditation for three (3) years (Effective January 2025 to January 2028).
This recognition affirms JRU’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement in delivering quality education.
2. JRU Siklab Rizal Team Joins Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific & Middle East 2025
JRU’s Siklab Rizal team successfully qualified for the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific & Middle East 2025 in Doha, Qatar. Passing the rigorous technical inspection and being selected as the Philippine flag bearer are remarkable accomplishments that reflect their ingenuity, dedication, and teamwork.
Their journey is a testament to JRU’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. We extend our gratitude to Shell Philippines, Shell Global, Rapide, and Engr. Jane Valencia Bordales for their invaluable support in this endeavor.
3. Rizalian Wins in Junior 3D Digital Game Art Competition
Elcid Gaspar, a student from the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing, emerged as one of the two winners in the Junior 3D Digital Game Art Competition hosted by TESDA’s Human Resource Development Center.
With this achievement, he will proudly represent the Philippines in the WorldSkills ASEAN Competition at the World Trade Center this August 2025. This victory highlights the caliber of JRU’s students in the field of digital arts and game development.
4. Wadhwani Entrepreneur Faculty Development Program Recognitions
On February 7, 2025, JRU faculty members from the BAA, CSE, and HTM departments were recognized for their outstanding performance in the Wadhwani Entrepreneur Faculty Development Program (FDP). Among 79 educators from 48 institutions nationwide, JRU’s educators earned the prestigious WEN Educator Certification.

JRU also received the WEN Ignite Excellence Award for having the most number of participants successfully completing the FDP. This recognition reflects our faculty’s dedication to mastering innovative teaching strategies that shape the future of education.
5. JRU Tourism Students Win 2nd Place at PTAA Competition
On February 8, 2025, four BS Tourism Management students from JRU secured 2nd place at the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) Competition, competing against top universities such as UST, LPU, Laguna College, and Lipa City College.
Their success is a testament to their skills, knowledge, and passion for the tourism industry.
6. Excellence in Innovation in Teaching Award
HTM Faculty and OJT Coordinator, Dr. Jaque Diamante, was honored with the Excellence in Innovation in Teaching Award by Shinawatra University in Thailand on February 19, 2025. This recognition underscores her dedication to pioneering new approaches in hospitality and tourism education.
