July 3, 2017 (Monday) – In celebration of the Season 98 of the Philippine National Collegiate Athletic Association, the Rizalian community sent their good luck to the entire JRU varsity team at the annual PEP RALLY 2017: Live the Dream held at the University Quadrangle.
Untamed by the intermittent weather, the Rizalian Ambassadors together with the Central Student Council all put up a good show for the students, faculty, and administrators. The 2 000 audiences across all academic division were enthralled by the marching JRU Band and Brass immediately followed by an exhilarating performance from the JRU Pep Squad and select pupils from the Arts and Design Track of JRU Senior High School. The crowd was in awe when the senior high school pupils moved to the festive beat as they form the letters J-R-U with umbrellas filled with gold confetti showering at the quadrangle.
The players then paraded and performed while they were dressed in their respective animated character costumes. JRU’s NCAA muse Lishairra James Portugal was introduced to the Rizalian community by NCAA courtside reporter Ceej Tantengco.
As it was enough of an entertainment, all the participants surprised the crowd with a solidarity dance; timing the rainfall that afternoon which made this year’s Pep Rally more memorable. After all the performances, the entire José Rizal University wholeheartedly sang the Himno José Rizal.
This year’s Pep Rally 2017: Live the Dream sends cheers and hopes for the JRU Heavy Bombers, along with the other varsity teams, to bring home victory on the Season 98 of the NCAA.
