One of the Outstanding Students of the Philippines

Another #ProudRizalian moment had happened last July 30, 2018, at the Fuller Hall of the Asian Institute of Management when Mr. Mark Daniele Mabalay, AB – English, Batch 2018, was awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines – NCR.  But even before Mark received the TOSP-NCR award, he had already brought pride to the Rizalian Community by winning the Jose Rizal Model Student Award given by the Knights of Rizal just days before he graduated as Magna Cum Laude.

Mark’s journey is not an easy road, from hundreds of applicants from different Universities and Colleges in National Capital Region, only 20 finalists were chosen to proceed to the next round.  During the formation days, he had a chance to meet and be mentored by some of the greatest nation builders our country has.  The hardest part may be of the competition, according to Mark, is how to stand by your principle and your values as they throw difficult challenges and questions.   But he did surpass the process, because of his Academic Excellence, Leadership Track, and Social Engagement Initiatives, he emerged as one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines – NCR.

The battle is not over yet.  Mark is now preparing for his attempt to bag the National Award and hoping that his success will inspire other students to rise above the challenges and achieve more.

‘TOSP reminds us to focus not just on polishing minds, it also seeks to fortify and educate hearts’ – Mark Daniele Mabalay
