On March 14, the Bloodletting event, the fifth of the six institutional outreaches coordinated by the Community Development Office with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC - Rizal Chapter) was held at the JRU Auditorium.
This successful event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Jose Rizal
University’s Nursing and Health Sciences, Criminal Justice Education, Hospitality and Tourism Management programs, Senior High School, Central Student Council, media partners The Journal and The Scribe, and the Marketing and Communications Office. For this year, the Rotary Club District 3800 represented by Mr. John Lam, also participated in the worthwhile activity.
With sixty-nine successful blood donors recorded by the PRC, JRU received blood unit vouchers once again. Each voucher entitles the bearer to one free unit of any blood component at the PRC Muntinlupa Branch, Makati Branch, East Rizal Branch, or the Rizal Chapter only.

This year’s theme, “Pusong Rizaliano: Dugo’y Alay Sa Serbisyo,” aligns with the third Sustainable Development Goal, which focuses on Good Health and Well-Being. JRU’s school officials, faculty, non-teaching staff, students, alumni, and students from other schools willingly donated their blood to help save lives. Additionally, all donors had the opportunity to receive a free health check-up.
