Program Description

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education with a major in Guidance and Counseling is tailored for individuals aspiring to become professional school counselors in K-12 educational settings. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students develop counseling skills and techniques essential for addressing students’ academic, social-emotional, and career-related needs. Emphasis is placed on establishing rapport with students, conducting assessments, and implementing evidence-based interventions.

The program focuses on the role of school counselors in promoting students’ personal growth, academic success, and career readiness, with an emphasis on culturally responsive counseling practices.
