An unveiling of twelve feet high mosaic mural, was created to commemorate the name of our national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal, brought together a gathering of Rizalian students, Alumnus along with their family and local community which took place at JRU Quadrangle as part of the Centennial Celebration.
The mosaic comes from the different entries of Rizalians who took pictures together with any statues or murals of Dr. Jose P. Rizal and tagging it with #Rizalfie and #JRUat100. The morning began with an official welcome and a dance performance by the Elementary division telling the history of JRU.
The unveiling was continued with a speech by the Marketing Director, Ivory Joy C. Malinao who is the head of the digital campaign. ‘It’s been a long time coming to get something to acknowledge the martyrdom of our national hero, it represents how Rizal has inspired us to live multiple roles in a society, to live a full life and make a difference.’
‘It’s one of the most important things we’ve done, so I’m glad that it’s got pride of place in the campus,’ she said. -RSF
