September 16, 2016 (Friday) – The José Rizal University Marketing and Communications Office, in cooperation with the Senior High School Department held the first event for the Senior High School Students entitled “Don’t Dream it, Be it” at the university quadrangle at 1 o’clock in the afternoon until 8 o’clock in the evening.
The JRU Chorale led the prayer and the national anthem followed by a livening performance by the Food & beverage strand, section C. After which, Ms. Leila L. Roxas of SHS division delivered welcoming remarks, praising the awareness among SHS Students on their future career based on the marketability of their chosen tracks that are being offered by JRU and visualizing their goals and dreams.
The first set of event, “Don’t Dream it, Be it” started with booth set-up where the SHS students were divided into 15 groups. There were 15 colorful and elegant booths at the university quadrangle.
The second set of “Don’t Dream it, Be it” was a fashion show where every strand has its representative to showcase the proper attire in the school and for their future career. The fashion show aimed to help the students to prepare to dress smartly in their future career and wear a proper uniform to create an identity for the school in the community.“Don’t Dream it, Be it”, aimed to strengthen and to establish professional relationship and discuss potential job opportunities in the future. It was attended by roughly 1,500 SHS students and faculty across all divisions.
