I started nursing school at José Rizal University. During this time, unprecedented financial problems were present, but that didn’t stop me from pursuing my dreams. JRU was able to help and make that dream happen.
Months after, I passed my board exam. At the age of 19, I started working as a staff nurse abroad. It wasn’t easy, and nobody said it would be, but it was all worth it.
After eight years of working in Libya, I decided to take IELTS, NCLEX, and OET, and with hard work and faith, I passed. I am now working in Middlesex University Hospital (London).
In life, there will be challenges, especially in this profession, where our lives are also at stake and the risk is so high. But I love my profession, and I couldn’t even imagine doing other things.
I am happy that my journey inspires my siblings. My brother is a Registered Nurse too, and my sister, who’s an academic scholar, is now taking the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program both in JRU.
Thank you JRU. I am proud to be a Rizalian.
