PEP RALLY 2016: Who’s The Boss Now?
June 23, 2016 (Thursday) – The José Rizal University Athletics Office, in cooperation with the Marketing and Communications Office held the annual PEP Rally entitled “Who’s the Boss Now?” at the university quadrangle at 4 o’clock in the afternoon in celebration of the 92nd National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
The event was graced by the university administrators and the teaching & non-teaching faculty. Torch bearers Maria Shola Alvarez and Paolo Pontejos of the JRU Bombers opened the event followed by a livening performance by the JRU Drummers and the JRU Brass. After which, Athletics Director Efren Jose Y. Supan delivered welcoming remarks, praising the coaches of the different athletic teams and empowering the crowd to support the JRU team in this season of the NCAA. The different athletics team were introduced to the Rizalian community as they perform a handful of dance craze that stormed the social media; Dessert, The Running Man Challenge and Trumpet Challenge to name a few. The JRU PEP Squad enthralled the crowd with their breath-taking choreography and lifting stunts. Immediately after their performance, the athletes joined them to dance in the music of “Shut up and Dance” and demonstrated the NCAA Cheer before ending the PEP Rally with the BINGO yell. Hymno Rizal was sung as the event came to a close
PEP Rally 2016: “Who’s The Boss Now?” aimed to strengthen the unity of the Rizalian community across all academic divisions in support of our varsity team; co-presented by Hawk Bags. It was attended by roughly 2000 students and faculty across all divisions.
