JRU Students Visit Hong Kong and Macau in Educational Tour
46 Tourism Management Students taking up TRM 12 – World Tourism participated in their first international educational trip to Hong Kong – Macau from January 14 to 16, 2013.The tour aims to provide students with international exposure and learning experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. It also gives students a global survey of the tourist destinations outside the Philippines. Most importantly, students get first-hand experience on international documentations, health and safety issues, geographical characteristics, access routes, major attractions, gastronomy, and distinctive cultural attributes of major tourist destinations and international organizations relating to tourism and their major functions.
Among the sights and tourist attractions visited were Victoria Peak, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen Fishing Village, Tourist Information Center, Harbour Front Promenade, Avenue of Stars, and Symphony of Lights Show in Hong Kong. A-Ma Temple, Ruins of St. Paul, Pastry Street, Leal Senado Square, Venetian Hotel Grand Mall, and Macau Tower in Macau.
The activity was supervised by the Dean of Hotel and Tourism Management, Ronald Dexter Antiporda with HTM Faculty Irene Swing and Russell and facilitators from GoDiscover. The party from José Rizal University stayed at the Noah’s Ark Resort.
