The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management incorporated educational tours as part of its curriculum requirements in order to ensure that the students will learn from the industry. The series of educational tours of the college started last July 25, 2018, wherein first-year students enrolled in Macro Perspective in Tourism and Hospitality visited Belmont Hotel for hotel familiarization tour. Belmont Hotel is one of the hotel brands located in the Resorts World Manila (RWM) where Maxims Hotel, Marriott Hotel Manila, and Holiday Inn Express are the other three. The students were oriented by the Housekeeping and Front Office Managers of their hotel operations. They were also allowed to visit the back of the house offices and operations of the hotel establishment which are not seen by the regular hotel guests such as the Housekeeping Department, where they appreciated the sanitary practices of the establishment in ensuring the linens, uniform, and guest clothes are properly washed, ironed, and kept or delivered; personnel canteen where the employees were provided free meals; and Human Resources Department where the students saw the training area for the employees. They also visited selected guestrooms of Belmont Hotel where they were welcomed by the room attendants who taught them of the hotel’s bed making procedures. They also appreciated the other hotel brands of the Resorts World Manila. Particularly, they visited the connecting bridge from the hotel going to NAIA Terminal 3 which is one of the competitive advantages of the RWM, façade of Maxims and Marriott Hotels, and the malls, restaurants, an amphitheater of the RWM.
