Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 2016

October 14, 2016-  Every October, women and men around the world are celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness and in support of the university in this advocacy, the Marketing and Communications together with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences conducted a university campaign against the disease. In lieu with this, pins were distributed to the employees and some students of the José Rizal University.

The organizers were excited for the event entitled, Breast Cancer Awareness: Its Causes and Prevention. The event aims to promote the campaign against breast cancer and encourage the audience to spread the courage to fight against it, for it has overtaken the lung cancer disease since 2012. The program opened by the host, Ms. Theresa Leona Divino and started with the Nursing Society students and faculty, demonstrating the proper way of breast.

The program aimed to make the audience understand the importance of such self-test and how it helps to avoid the breast cancer as early as the discovery. Some questions about the disease’s facts and opinions are raised and answer by the organization. Afterwards, an invited speaker, Mr. Emerson Galang-Aliswag, the President of the Aliswag Review Center (ARC) talked about the major causes of the disease, which he said the sleeplessness contributes more than anything else. He also tackled about the prevention of the disease which could basically get from soya beans- food and drinks such as thou, soya milk, soy sauce, tofu, miso, etc.

The seminar ended with a forum which highly educated each and every one in the hall. The program ended with an intermission by Joaquin Raymund Muñoz and the certification of the speaker by the Director of Marketing and Communications Office, Ms. Ivory, Joy C. Malinao and its Coordinator, Ms. Shara Mae F. Toyoto.
